The Trading Heroes Skunkwürks Garage is Now Open

This is a concept that I have been playing with for a long time. I just didn’t know the best way to execute it.

But now I think I do.

Today, I am happy to announce the start of something new at Trading Heroes….The Skunkwürks Garage. We develop, test and tune Forex trading strategies.

In this post, I’ll show you why I started it, how it works and how you can benefit. 

The Next Level of Trading Education

First, there are a couple of things that I feel strongly about, which I have gained from my experience in running this site and being a developing FX trader, since 2007.

1. I believe that there is a lot of excellent Forex trading education out there. But I think that there is also some room for improvement in the learning process.
2. There is also lot of great trading talent in the world. But many of these traders are very private and will never be known to the public. So how do we find them and learn from them?

That brings me to some of my goals for this site…

In order for Trading Heroes to make the huge positive impact on trading that I want it to make, I will have to do leverage these two things in a way that I feel most sites aren’t doing right now.

I feel that there is another gear in trading education that we are not shifting into. In other words, I feel that there is more efficient way to train consistently profitable traders…faster. 

Not in a get-rich-overnight kind of way, but in a way that will yield a higher success rate and traders who are successful over their lifetimes…not just for a few months. Let’s face it, trading is only suitable for a very small percentage of the population. But how do we give the people who are cut out to be traders, the best shot at success?

Also, I feel that I can bring more undercover independent traders to light, without compromising their desire for privacy. This will be just as tough, but I believe that there are ways to do this. Traders like FuturesTrader71 are a good example of making this concept work well.

Yes, those are bold statements and I might fail, but I have seen flashes of brilliance in other trading education programs and I think that I can put together the pieces.

How it Works

I believe that that the first step to building a better trader, faster and more reliably, is to acknowledge the 3 Elements of Trading Education. I recently updated the homepage to reflect this belief.

The community part is kind of optional. I’ve seen a few traders become successful on their own. But I think that a good community significantly increases your chance of success and almost all traders learned from a community or mentor of some type.

Anywho…the first element is the focus of The Skunkwürks Garage:

I’m going to be taking trading ideas through the complete cycle of:

Idea > Testing < > Tweak or Kill > Demo Trading > Live Trading

I will publish the results of every step in the process. 

You get glimpses of the process in YouTube videos and high-quality trading blogs, but I think that it is really hard to put the process together, if you are learning to trade.

Since everything will be completely public, you will essentially be getting a full-blown, free trading education. There are also other elements that I will be throwing in that should help speed up the learning process.

Now you are probably wondering…

What’s the “Catch?”

No catch, everything will be completely free, open and public. Executed trades will beautomatically sent out on Twitter, like I have been doing for the last few years.

Full backtesting results will be posted. Rules of the systems will be posted.

Everything will be posted. 

However, full disclosure, I will only be publishing one, maybe two, strategies in The Garage. They are public because I want to prove, without a doubt, that the process can work…if you do the work.

From there, if you want to learn more from other research we have done, or from professional traders who we work with, there will be a charge to get that information.

Make no mistake, this takes a lot of time.

A lot.

Is that fair? 

So we will only make a few systems completely public. If other traders want to make their systems public and go through the same process, then we welcome that with open arms.

If they want to create a paid product, with our help, then we are open to that too. Contact usif you are interesting in doing this.

So that is what The Skunkwürks Garage is all about. Will it work?

Only time will tell.
